The Marine and Freshwater Research Institute in Iceland is attempting to breed sexless farmed salmon. The objective is to prevent farmed salmon from becoming sexually mature and being able to spawn with the naturally occurring local salmon population.

The IP&IT court in Thailand ruled that Marine-Tech International (MTI) infringed two of Benchmark's patents related to artemia and hatching enrichment, and the company must cease using the patented technology.

INVE Thailand, part of Benchmark, has become the first company in Asia to be awarded a certificate to export its Artemia cysts, feed and health products into Ecuador. It will now be used as a reference in the region for other companies seeking similar certificates. The announcement came after three full days of audits by COTERI (Technical Commission for Import Risk, Ecuador) at the company’s factory in Thailand.

Artemia included in retaliatory tariffs against U.S. duties on steel and aluminum imports.
