Skretting Norway is the first feed mill in the country to attain Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) announced.
The Skretting AS feed mill, located in Stavanger, Norway, has met the requirements of the BAP feed standard which include strict sourcing requirements for both marine and terrestrial ingredients for all aquafeeds produced at the mill.
“This is BAP’s first certified feed mill in Norway, meaning that fish farms can now source from a BAP-certified mill in Norway and will be able to communicate to their customers accordingly that their feed is responsibly produced. Personally, I am proud and happy about the BAP certificate and want to thank my colleagues for a well-executed and thorough audit so we can also deliver BAP-certified aquafeeds from Norway,” said Nina Flem, quality director at Skretting.
“Congratulations to Skretting on being the first in Norway, this is a really important step for a critical part of the aquaculture supply chain,” added Iain Shone, GSA’s director of market development for Europe.
