APHIS inspection and approval through the APHIS Registered Aquaculture Export Facility program may be required prior to shipping live aquatic animals to certain destination countries. APHIS has updated this inspection program, and the new requirements and processes will be effective September 28, 2020, for all future facility inspections and re-inspections.

In preparation, APHIS will be hosting a webinar on September 22, 2020 at 3:00 pm EDT, which will provide an overview of the upcoming changes to the APHIS Registered Aquaculture Export Facility inspection program, including:

  • NEW inspection checklist and country-specific requirements
  • NEW approval letter template
  • UPDATED pre-export testing guidance
