VESO Apotek is the new distributor of Nova Q’s RAS Right range of bacterial products and microbiome management techniques for land-based Atlantic salmon farmers across Norway, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, as part of a recent strategic partnership.
Nova Q are environmental sustainability specialists located in Ireland that source and supply best-in-class product and process innovations across its range of sectors, including aquaculture, agriculture, and wastewater treatment. VESO is a trusted supplier to many of the largest Norwegian, Icelandic and Faroese RAS farms, offering a wide range of market-leading fish health products, vaccines and disinfectants. VESO’s focus across its sectors is to contribute to good fish health, and through that, good fish welfare.
Nova Q has leveraged its long experience in enhancing the functionality of beneficial bacteria to develop the RAS Right range of nitrifier-based bacterial products and protocols for inoculating and maintaining biofilters. The RAS Right products are market-leading in terms of efficacy and stability. Nova Q has also designed a new “active microbiome management” protocol for applying bacterial treatments in RAS to optimize biofilter performance. RAS Right products improve the water quality of RAS and so are beneficial for fish health and welfare. Therefore, they are a natural addition to VESO’s range of products for RAS customers. These products and protocols have been proven in a range of commercial RAS farms and trials with leading research organizations. The new partnership between Nova Q and VESO will leverage these strong results to scale this solution through the leading RAS market in the world, Norwegian farmers of Atlantic salmon.
Arne Ruud, CEO of VESO, said that “this new partnership recognizes that good water quality is a fundamental requirement of good fish health. RAS Right nitrifying bacteria are a proven solution, and Nova Q has the technical expertise to support our team in developing this market. We are pleased to add RAS Right to our existing range of vaccines, pharmaceuticals and disinfectants to help our valued RAS customers protect the health of their fish.”
Julian Beatty, MD of Nova Q, said, “we’ve developed the RAS Right range with our global partners over the last four years, using our experience in bacterial remediation of wastewater systems, as a proven solution to improve the water quality of RAS. This new agreement with VESO – already a trusted partner to many RAS farms across Norway, Iceland, and the Faroes – will drive this solution in these key markets.”
