GenoMar Genetics appointed Martín Cordero Ordóñez as general manager of the recently established joint venture GenoMar Genetics Colombia S.A. He will oversee the operations from production to sales of genetically improved tilapia fingerlings in Colombia under the brand GenoMar.
With more than 13 years of experience in the production of tilapia, Cordero Ordóñez was the team leader of the tilapia genetics program at AquaCorporación Internacional S.A., Costa Rica with the management of Aquainnovo S.A., team leader for reproduction and rearing in AquaPanamá, Panama and production manager at Acuicola La Selva S.A.C, Peru.
“I am looking forward to using my competence and commitment to building up the production facility to supply superior genetics to Colombian farmers. We plan to deliver the first batch of fingerlings by the end of 2022,” said Martín Cordero.
