Norwegian copepod producer, CFEED, is expanding its production facility in Vanvikan, Norway. This expansion, driven by a significant investment in advanced production technology, will enhance capacity and efficiency while reinforcing CFEED’s commitment to sustainability. The new facility is set to open on August 20, 2025, following the completion of construction in early August.
This expansion will establish CFEED as the world’s leading controlled-environment copepod production facility, significantly increasing capacity and creating new job opportunities for the local community. It will also strengthen CFEED’s position as the top global producer of hatchery-stage feed for marine fish larvae.
"This project strengthens our presence in the aquaculture market and ensures a sustainable, cutting-edge production facility that can scale efficiently. By improved technology and boosting of capacity, we can provide a safe, modern workplace for our employees while continuing to supply premium products to our customers. As part of its long-term vision, CFEED is reinforcing its position as a global leader in sustainable aquafeed solutions," said Tore Remman, CEO of CFEED.
Due to organic growth in recent years, CFEED made a strategic decision two years ago to expand its production capabilities. The company specializes in hatchery-stage live feed, producing Acartia tonsa copepods for over 15 species, including seabream, cod, grouper, seriola, seabass, tuna, and more.
At CFEED, we are privileged to have the trust of our customers, who rely on our product and expertise. They recognize our continuous efforts in research and development to enhance our product quality and services. This expansion allows us to scale up production while exploring new markets to better serve our growing customer base," said Linn Baardsgaard, sdales and marketing director.
CFEED will celebrate this milestone with an official grand opening event on August 20, 2025, welcoming industry leaders, partners, and stakeholders. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new facility and learn more about CFEED’s innovations in the aquafeed sector.
