Telefónica Tech, through its company Geprom and its big data and AI business unit, has drawn up a plan that within five years it will digitize the 14 aquaculture farms that turbot and sole farming company Stolt Sea Farm has spread over Spain, Portugal, France, Iceland and Norway.

The plan, designed by Telefónica Tech, aims to develop a pioneering digital tool that will allow Stolt Sea Farm to optimize its business by giving it the ability to predict the supply and demand of its fish. The tool will integrate various industrial digitalization platforms (WMS for warehouse management, MES for the digitalization of production, and APS for production and demand planning) with the data collected in the plants and analyzed with big data and artificial intelligence.

Machine learning algorithms will provide Stolt Sea Farm with patterns to improve its planning, as advanced analytics give it an estimate of customer orders and it will be able to more efficiently manage the fish it has to slaughter. Likewise, it will also be able to optimize processes such as accurately quantifying the number of turbot and sole fingerlings that must be introduced into the farms to ensure that they reach the right size on time.
