Benchmark Genetics appointed Øyvind J. Brevik as fish health manager salmon, responsible for fish health and welfare in all the global production units connected with the Benchmark Genetics breeding programs for Atlantic salmon.
Before joining Benchmark, Øyvind was senior researcher in the global R&D fish health team at Cermaq for more than ten years. His focus was on applied science, using the best available knowledge to solve key fish health challenges. With over 20 publications, he has in-depth knowledge of emerging diseases, diagnostics, biosafety and fish welfare.
“I am very pleased that we have managed to attract Øyvind Brevik to join us. His knowledge and experience within fish health are widely appreciated in the aquaculture industry and ensure we stay in the forefront of biosecurity,” said Rudi Ripman Seim.
