The China Society of Fisheries (CSF) has canceled the World Aquaculture 2025 event, originally scheduled for April 24-27, 2025, in Qingdao, China. After careful consideration of the current circumstances, the organizers decided to cancel the event in China.
However, in response, the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) has decided to move the event forward to a new location: India. The event will be renamed World Aquaculture India and will take place from November 10-13, 2025.
"We are committed to offering a successful event despite this change," the organizers said. "We're excited about the opportunities this new location presents. We believe it's a positive development and the right time to return to India after our first successful experience there."
World Aquaculture India will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre – Novotel from November 10-13, 2025. This marks the event's return to India following the successful Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2019 (APA19) event in Chennai.
With aquaculture rapidly growing in the Asian-Pacific region, particularly in India, the 2025 event provides a perfect opportunity for the World Aquaculture community to focus on India again. Hyderabad plays a significant role in India's maritime development with its advanced marine economy, robust marine industry, and strong foundation in marine fishery, equipment manufacturing, and transportation.
