Robins McIntosh, executive vice president of Charoen Pokphand Public Company, will be the keynote speaker at Shrimp Summit 2024 in Chennai, India from June 27-29, 2024. McIntosh is a shrimp farming expert with over four decades of experience in shrimp health management, breeding, hatchery techniques, production methods, feeds, and more. He has traveled extensively and worked closely with researchers, producers, and industry leaders in every major shrimp farming region of the world.

“I’ve had the unique opportunity to personally witness remarkable advances that have evolved to address specific regional challenges in various facets of the production chain," said McIntosh. "In my keynote address, I will present examples of practices that are relevant to challenges the global industry faces today.”

The Shrimp Summit is delighted to showcase McIntosh’s unique knowledge and global perspective, which have allowed him to identify commercial practices that address today’s real-world challenges. “I have been fortunate to witness the trial-and-error creativity and ingenuity of the shrimp farming community,” said McIntosh. “It’s humbling to know that some of these techniques were developed by producers who put their complete fortunes at risk in hopes of solving a challenge. I look forward to sharing these valuable lessons at the Shrimp Summit to help others benefit from our collective knowledge to improve efficiency and reduce impacts and costs.”

All sessions, led by expert speakers and panelists from around the globe, provide the opportunity to find out what’s new and where the industry is going at a critical time. The first day of sessions covers Global Production & Markets, Expanding the Market, Breeding and Disease Management, and Labor Issues in Processing Plants. The second day of engaging sessions will explore Digital Technology, Improver Programs, Grow-out Intensification, Sustainable Feeds, and Innovation. Shrimp Summit attendees will be invited to vote for the most compelling innovations. All session descriptions can be found here.

In addition to all the timely and important session topics, the Summit includes a pre-conference tour on June 27 that will take attendees to state-of-the-art hatcheries and a smallholder farm where the latest digital technologies are maximizing shrimp production and minimizing environmental impact. For an additional fee, attendees can also join a two-day post-conference tour that will highlight the full supply chain, providing first-hand insights into hatcheries, farms, feed mills, and processors in Andhra Pradesh.
