The Global Shrimp Forum (GSF) opened registration for the 2024 edition on March 1, with the early-bird registration period lasting until May 1. This year, the GSF’s three-tiered pricing structure returns, with the early-bird prices frozen at the same rate as last year, providing an added incentive for prospective delegates to secure their places as early as possible.

Registration pricing structure:

  • Early-Bird Registration: Available until May 1 at €1,200 (excluding 21% Dutch VAT).
  • Mid-Bird Registration: Available until July 1 at €1,500 (excluding 21% Dutch VAT).
  • Late-Bird Registration: Available until September 2 at €1,800 (excluding 21% Dutch VAT).

For the past three years, the GSF has brought together industry professionals from around the world, welcoming thought leaders, producers, suppliers, and stakeholders to address key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of shrimp aquaculture and trade. This year’s Global Shrimp Forum will feature an impressive lineup of industry experts, including Bastiaan van Tilburg, CEO of Skretting, and Ivo Lansbergen, CEO of DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition and Health.

Van Tilburg brings extensive leadership experience in aquafeed and nutrition and will deliver a keynote about the state of the shrimp industry in Asia and Latin America, while Lansbergen will deliver a keynote address about the future of shrimp feed formulation. Their expertise, alongside other key speakers, will drive critical discussions on the future of shrimp aquaculture, trade and consumption.

This year’s Global Shrimp Forum will feature an updated program, ensuring deeper engagement and accessibility for attendees. Notably, the side events on Day 1 have been scheduled differently, allowing participants to attend both the Wild-Caught Shrimp and Inclusive Supply Chains sessions. Additionally, Days 2 and 3 have been restructured to offer a more balanced experience, with an extra plenary session about the Future of Shrimp Feed Formulation on Day 2 and additional breakout sessions on the Use of Antibiotics and the Investment Landscape in the shrimp industry on Day 3, to encourage diverse discussions. The Global Shrimp Council board and members meeting will once again take place on September 2, the first day of the forum, reinforcing GSF’s role as the central hub for industry decision-makers.

The fourth edition of the GSF is shaping up to be the best yet, with dozens of companies already committed to sponsoring the event, with first-time sponsors such as de Heus and Laitram Machinery joining well-known returning supporters such as Omarsa, Santa Pricilla, Devi Seafoods, Minh Phu, Chicken of the Sea, Maruha Nichiro, Biomar and Cargill.

Sponsorship and exhibitor packages are still available, for the forum, which in addition to the fantastic program described above, will for the first time, offer simultaneous translation in Chinese and Spanish, as the forum aims to deliver on its promise of making the event more accessible to a broader global audience.

Willem van der Pijl, managing director of the Global Shrimp Forum, emphasized the event’s growing impact. "Each year, the Global Shrimp Forum serves as a vital platform for collaboration, innovation, and progress within the shrimp industry. With an improved program structure and expanded language accessibility, we are making it easier than ever for participants from all over the world to engage in meaningful discussions that shape the future of shrimp aquaculture and trade."
