The XIV International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture will be held from November 28 to December 3, 2021 in Puerto Varas, Chile and will be organized by the University of Chile and Intesal. The event follows the last symposium held in Australia in 2018.
The XIV symposium aims at sharing the latest world-class research on genetics and genomics for increasing efficiency and sustainability of aquaculture and discussing strategies and results for the integration of novel genomic tools in aquaculture breeding and production. The event provides a forum for the industry and academy to learn from each other from the latest developments and applications of genetics and genomics and examine the past and present of aquaculture genetics for envisioning future challenges and opportunities in the field.
The list of topics are:
- Quantitative genetics and selective breeding
- Genomic prediction
- Functional genomics and biotechnology
- Sex control
- Population genetics
- Gene editing
- Genetics and genomics of disease and stress
- Genetics and genomics of nutrition
- Epigenetics
- Genomes and metabiomes
- Industry genetics application
- Ethics, food safety and environmental risk
