On November 19, the majestic Teatro del Lago will once again host Patagonic RAS, the premier event for RAS salmon farming, which this year celebrates its fifth edition. Patagonic RAS is the most significant biennial international conference in Latin America focused on aquaculture in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). It brings together leading organizations, global experts, and key industry players for a full day of lectures and networking at the gateway to Chilean Patagonia.

In the face of global political, climatic, and social changes, RAS technology continues to lead the expansion of the aquaculture industry worldwide, whether for fry rearing, post-smolt production, or complete grow-out to harvest. Maximizing the potential of aquaculture in recirculating systems requires integrating know-how with technological, physiological, genetic, and nutritional advances. With Patagonic RAS 2024, BioMar aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration to build the future of recirculating aquaculture together.

The event will feature three thematic sessions: System production and management, specific nutrition for optimal fish and system performance, and health and welfare in RAS.

The session on system production and management will address the specific knowledge and high degree of expertise required for RAS production. Experiences and realities from RAS producers in different regions will be shared, along with future data-driven strategies for optimal system production and management.

The session on specific nutrition for optimal fish and system performance will focus on the latest innovations and scientific advances in nutrition, with the goal of achieving optimal fish and system performance while minimizing environmental impact. Finally, the session on health and welfare in RAS will explore the complex interaction between fish, the system, and production management to ensure the growth, health, and welfare of the fish.

Patagonic RAS 2024 is a unique opportunity to establish connections, exchange knowledge, and discover new business opportunities in an inspiring and collaborative environment. Registration will soon be available through the BioMar website.
