The third edition of Aquafuture Spain, set to take place from May 20-22, 2025, at the Ifevi exhibition center in Vigo, has reached a significant milestone with 200 exhibitors from 27 countries. This achievement surpasses initial expectations, firmly establishing the event as a leading reference in the aquaculture sector.

This milestone represents a 33% increase compared to the first two editions, an ambitious goal set by the organizers in 2023 when they decided to relocate the event to Vigo and transform it into a biennial gathering. “With five months remaining until the fair, we’ve already filled the initial layout and are receiving numerous additional applications, prompting us to expand the event’s capacity,” said Juan Lijó, director of the fair.

The growing interest in Aquafuture Spain is not only reflected in the number of exhibitors but also in the increasing demand from professionals eager to attend. The organizers anticipate surpassing 8,000 visitors over the three-day event, thanks to an expanded program and greater international participation.

Aquafuture Spain has also garnered support from key institutions, including the Xunta de Galicia, the Diputación de Pontevedra, the Concello de Vigo, the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium, and Abanca. These organizations have emphasized the importance of hosting Spain’s only aquaculture industry fair in Galicia, a region vital to the sector.

Aquafuture Spain offers more than just an exhibition. The event will feature an expanded program with over 80 international speakers and a series of parallel activities designed to foster knowledge sharing and innovation in the sector.

Two dedicated rooms will allow exhibitors to showcase their products, studies, and research, while a conference hall will host seven roundtables on strategic topics for global aquaculture.

Aquafuture Spain continues to solidify its position as a must-attend event for the global aquaculture sector, bringing together companies, researchers, and professionals from around the world. Its growth underscores Galicia’s potential as a hub for aquaculture innovation and strengthens Spain’s role as a leader in the industry.
