Olaisen Blue, an accelerator of sustainable aquaculture, added three new startups to its program. The startups, hailing from South Africa, Canada, and Thailand, will join the accelerator at its headquarters on the small island of Lovund.
“We are thrilled to welcome these innovative startups to our program,” said Stine Svanevik, CEO of Olaisen Blue. “Their work in aquaculture aligns with our mission to promote sustainable practices that support healthy ecosystems and local communities.”
The three startups joining the Olaisen Blue program are:
- MariHealth Solutions, based in South Africa, and developing an animal health monitoring service that utilizes a proteomic workflow to assess chronic stress and metabolism in farmed fish and shellfish.
- Blue Lion Labs, a Canadian startup that has spent several years building leading-edge machine learning software to automatically identify harmful organisms in the water.
- Full Circle Biotechnology, a Thai startup that gives farmers access to cost-saving, carbon-saving protein while simplifying their procurement process.
“We believe that these startups have the potential to significantly impact the aquaculture industry, both in terms of sustainability and profitability,” said Svanevik. “We are excited to provide them with the resources, mentorship, and network they need to thrive.”
The Olaisen Blue accelerator program provides startups access to industry experts, mentors, investors, workspace, and resources on the island of Lovund. The program is focused on supporting startups that use technology and innovative business models to promote sustainable aquaculture practices.
