American Cobalt/Amazonia owns a commercial RAS aquaculture facility breeding and producing various species of warm water fish along with live food and is looking for aquaculture operations personnel. The facility comprises over 20,000 square feet of hatchery and grow-out. The company is now completing a 16,000 square foot state-of-the-art hatchery and research center with completion expected this fall. A third facility of 72,000 square feet is scheduled for completion in 2025. This is a ground-floor opportunity with advancement in one of the most unique facilities in North America.
Job details
The aquaculture technicians perform a variety of tasks relating to daily operations and maintenance of the aquaculture facility in Newton, New Jersey, such as water testing, fish handling, grading, system maintenance, data collection, harvesting, etc.
Requirements
- Must have aquaculture or tropical fish experience
- Must be able to swim
- Highly motivated
- Reliable transportation
- Self-starter
- Able to work some nights, and weekends if necessary
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a warm humid environment
