Nueva Pescanova Group will test an intelligent energy management system at its turbot hatchery in Mougás, Spain. Through the application of artificial intelligence and the optimization of air conditioning processes, this system aims to improve the energy efficiency of the farm achieving savings in consumption and reducing CO2 emissions.

Nueva Pescanova Group joined Repsol to test an intelligent management system, which collects different parameters such as the required power, usage patterns, the price of electricity at all times or the weather forecast. In addition, it analyzes the behavior of the equipment in real time and predicts the energy demand. With all this data, it determines the optimal conditions for each device and adapts them automatically. In the specific case of the turbot hatchery, it will identify the moments of greatest energy consumption when heating or cooling seawater.

In line with its commitment to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda and sustainable management of resources, the group also implemented seven photovoltaic farms in its facilities in Spain and Namibia, with a total of 40,000 square meters of solar panels. The estimated annual production exceeds 11,759,000 kWh, equivalent to the average annual consumption of more than 3,150 households.
