Inarctica, the largest Russian fish farming company, sold three smolt plants in Norway due to the regulatory restrictions on Russian business in Norway, which could lead to liquidation risks.

“We are grateful to the plant staff for their hard work. For several years, we have been producing fry of excellent quality, which was the result of the high professionalism and hard work of our Norwegian colleagues,” Ilya Sosnov, general director of the company, said.

Acquired fry plants in the Kaluga region and a plant under construction in Karelia will allow the company to carry out a continuous production cycle without Norwegian facilities.

Inarctica grows Atlantic salmon and sea trout in the Barents Sea in the Murmansk region and trout in the lakes of the Republic of Karelia.
