The Cluster de la Acuicultura Technological Center (CETGA), together with Stolt Sea Farm, Cenavisa and the University of A Coruña, will lead the project Development of microencapsulated vaccines against Aeromonas salmonicida in turbot (MIVALI).
In 2021, 70% of the European Union's turbot production has been harvested in Galicia, being the only Spanish region of production of this species (Spanish Aquaculture Business Association, APROMAR). However, turbot farming can be affected by the pathogen Aeromonas salmonicida.
MIVALI project will focus on developing new prototypes of vaccines against Aeromonas salmonicida in turbot, in order to improve turbot productivity.
The MIVALI project (CPP2021-008795) is funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (10.13039/501100011033) and by the European Union "NextGenerationEU" in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
