Shrimp Hatchery Technicians and Supervisors - USA

Hendrix Genetics is looking for shrimp technicians and supervisors for its Kona Bay company in Hawaii. As a supervisor/technician, the candidate will be involved and/or responsible for maintaining the constant production of high-quality algae which will, in turn, be used to feed our shrimp. In addition to algae production, the candidate will also make sure the daily production of Artemia meets the demand of the hatchery.
When not involved in live feeds, the candidate will assist in the production of the next generation of Kona Bay animals. This will involve, maturation, spawning and larval rearing and ensuring that PL production meets the strict quality control criteria as set out and managed by the hatchery manager.
- Associates degree in aquaculture or high school graduation or G.E.D.
- Three years of experience working with shrimp larval culture or two years of experience working with microalgae production.
- Ability to perform routine/basic arithmetic calculations.
- Fluent in English. Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to management and coworkers.
