Shrimp Improvement Systems (SIS) introduced its Hardy Line vannamei shrimp broodstock into India, according to local news.

This line was developed to face the tough conditions prevalent on farms. It is more resistant to disease outbreaks, does not lose its ability to grow rapidly and has high fecundity. This shrimp line can grow up to 0.347 grams per day with a survival rate of 87% and biomass of around 8.6 T/ha in 100 days.

SIS produces genetically improved and specific pathogen-free P. vannamei shrimp broodstock at its breeding facilities in Florida, Hawaii and India.
