Kona Bay supplied 3,600 shrimp broodstock to the Indian Saptagiri Group of Hatcheries. “For the first time, M/S Satpagiri group of companies imported a complete charter flight with 3,600 animals of the speed growth line from Kona Bay which can grow faster in the winter season. Tentatively seed production of this batch may start in the last week of September 2020,” said to local news Hari Narayan Rao, technical manager India at Kona Bay.

Saptagiri Group of Hatcheries, which are the biggest importer of broodstock in India, expects an increase in the demand for quality shrimp seeds during the winter season. Amid the lockdown, Kona Bay supplied 14,300 broodstock in June to India.
